We ordered the Bible as a gift for a new believer--we wanted one like our own because this particular study Bible is so packed with information and study helps, while being easy to read. Amazon was the only place we could find it, so we really appreciated that we were able to find it at all. The only "complaint", if you can call it that, is that the print is no larger than in our Bible, which is several years old. It isn't really a problem--if the print were larger, the Bible would be too large and heavy! I'm guessing they're calling it large print because they also have a much smaller version of the study Bible, in which the print must be nearly microscopic in order to fit everything into a smaller area, so this one would be "large" by comparison. As for the Bible itself, we think it's wonderful, with an amazing array of study notes, commentary, summaries of individual Bible personalities' lives, time lines and much, much more.Product details

By far my favorite of all the translations available...plus the study commentary is priceless. Easily understandable. Makes you want to read from cover to cover over and over again. Wish I could give it MORE STARS!!!!!
Absolutely love my new bible just like my last on only large print and not falling apart
I liked the content but the paper is so thin that even though it is large print it is difficult to read with ease because the print on the back of the pages shows through.
While it says it is large print, it really isn't, which is common with large print study bibles. If they were, they would have to be 2 volume books. This book is fine for table use study as it is design for. This is not a book want to hold reading in a chair or take to church. Far to bulky & heavy for that, and hard cover design only magnify the problem. This bible is for table or desk use only.
I liked the older edition, but my eyes started getting old. (So did the rest of me.) SO I was having trouble reading the old one and ordered the new Large Print. When it arrived, it was larger, but the print was only a point or so bigger. Not much of an improvement at all. I still have to use the bifocals etc. just as much.
This is an amazing resource to any serious student or beginner. If I used the number of words in the KJ version of the bible would it's 830,000. The NLT adds over one million more words of study helps.So, what you get is more helps than there is actual bible. So there is double value here - an excellent new translation and a library full of study aids and reasonable commentary. The typeface is only 9 or 10 pt - If you have bad eyes - no giant print version exists at this time. In my humble opinion, the NLT is the clearest, easiest to understand version I've seen. There is no perfect translation. In many cases this translation breaks some new ground with better and a more specific translation. Wonderful. In other cases, the NLT waters some good stuff down. I found that I do miss some wording and meaning from older translations but overall this is where I spend my time. The commentary/study aids are middle of the road Wheaton College type stuff. In many cases they will deliver multiple views of a subject giving you the right to chose. They don't take a particular stand which is admirable. They tend to stay away from some controversial subjects. They choose to say nothing and let the word say what it says rather than push a spin most of the time. Well worth the investment.
The New Living Bible in "LARGE PRINT" has many fine timelines and outlines as well as many study helps, but I am disappointed in the so called LARGE PRINT which I find no larger than my other bibles and not even as bold a print. The study aids are in print even smaller.
